Participants should arrive in Rome no later than July 2.

Friday July 3

  • 9:00 a.m.:  Meet at ICCS (Viale dei 4 Venti, 13) for departure by bus
  • Vist amphitheater and museum in Capua and have lunch together
  • Arrive Villa Vergiliana and settle in
  • Dinner and overnight at Villa Vergiliana

Saturday July 4

  • Morning session at the Villa Vergiliana: Otium and Maritime Villa Culture
  • Lunch at Villa Vergiliana
  • Afternoon visit to winery
  • Dinner and overnight at Villa Vergiliana

Sunday July 5

  • Morning at Pompeii 
  • Late lunch at Villa Vergiliana
  • Early evening session: Drinks and Pedagogy
  • Dinner at Villa Vergiliana

Monday July 6

  • Morning:  Depart by boat to Capri
  • Group visit to Blue Grotto
  • Free time for Monte Solaro or time in Anacapri
  • Dinner on your own
  • Overnight on Capri

Tuesday July 7

  • Morning: Hike to Tiberius’ villa 
  • Afternoon: Beach/free time or Villa San Michele 
  • Dinner on your own
  • Overnight on Capri

 

Wednesday July 8

  • Depart Capri on morning hydrofoil to Sorrento
  • Visit Regina Giovanna Roman villa / Villa Pollio Felice 
  • Lunch on own
  • Afternoon free in Sorrento
  • Dinner in Sorrento in Marina Grande 
  • Return to Villa Vergiliana for an overnight stay

Thursday July 9

  • Visit to Cumae 
  • Lunch at Villa Vergiliana
  • Afternoon visit to Baiae archaeological site on boat tour or snorkeling tour
  • Dinner at Villa Vergiliana

Friday July 10

  • Morning: Visit the amphitheater at Pozzuoli 
  • Picnic lunch
  • Afternoon: Visit Herculaneum Scavi 
  • Dinner and overnight at Villa Vergiliana

Saturday July 11

  • Morning at Pompeii - enter near amphitheatre
  • Lunch out
  • Visit Oplontis 
  • Dinner and overnight at Villa Vergiliana

Sunday July 12

  • Free time in Naples for Naples Underground or church services
  • Pizza lunch in Naples
  • Afternoon at the National Archaeological Museum
  • Dinner and overnight at Villa Vergiliana

Monday July 13 

  • Pausilypon tour
  • Picnic lunch
  • Afternoon beach visit or snorkeling in marine park
  • Dinner and overnight at Villa Vergiliana

Tuesday July 14 

  • Depart Villa for Rome
  • Visit Sperlonga en route
  • Lunch in Sperlonga
  • Arrive in Rome

Participants should plan to depart from Rome no earlier than July 15.
