Symposium Campanum, Fall 2016

The Vergilian Society of America is instituting a new symposium, to begin October 13–16 2016. The Symposium will be hosted by the Harry Wilks Study Center at the Villa Vergiliana in Cuma, Italy. Details of the Villa may be found at: https://www.vergiliansociety.org/villa/
The new symposium series will focus on any aspect of the history, archaeology, art and architecture, and geology of Italy and Sicily from the remotest antiquity to the Renaissance. Directed or co-directed proposals are invited for the first symposium. Brief proposals (up to 500 words) should describe the topic, with suggestion of the four or five most obvious participants. Proposals should be submitted to rthomas@fas.harvard.edu by September 15, 2015.  Successful directors will be informed by Oct. 1, 2015.
