Vergil Week 2015 at CWRU Goes Digital

Beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday 23 April 2015, Vergil Week at Case Western Reserve University will feature a reading of H.R. Fairclough’s translation of the Aeneid. Fairclough’s faithful prose translation, a standard of the Loeb Classical Library, now also appears in the new Digital Loeb Library.  Those who want to take part in the public reading of the Aeneid on the Cleveland campus will be encouraged to bring their laptops, tablets, and digital devices to read the text from the Digital Loeb Library. (It will also be possible to read from a print version.) Additionally, remote readers will be able to join the reading through Adobe Connect by logging in at http://connect.case.edu/vergilweek. Virtual readers will need the latest version of Adobe Flash Player; and please remember that Chrome is not compatible with Adobe Connect. Once connected, readers anywhere should be able to join us in reading through the Aeneid. Because the reading will be broadcast, filmed, and archived, readers will be required to sign a waiver form, available at the Vergil Week 2015 website (http://classics.case.edu/vergil-week-2015/).
